Eagle vs Shark

Following from a lockdown idea to screen outdoor movies for our teenage kids, we finally set up an outdoor screen in 2022, to watch Taika Waititi's brilliant debut.  

Double Bill: Badlands & True Romance 

Back at the bottom of garden for our first double Bill.  Shout out to Carl Orff and Hans Zimmer.

E.T.E.T.E.T.

"Extreme Temperature Extra Terrestrial Endurance Test"    This was planned as a sub-zero winter screening but got moved indoors due to rain and wind.   Guests travelled  through 'Elliots' Shed 'and up the 'spooky staircase' into an indoor Californian Redwood Forest.....

Mr Fox

Bean Cider Co. was reimagined for Wes Anderson's masterpiece at Kingsland House.  Guests were met by Bean Security and 'Petey' playing his Banjo, before stepping into Mrs Beans caravan and losing themselves 'down the rabbit hole';  travelling through sewers, fox tunnels, cider cellars and other mystery rooms, on a mission to catch Mr Fox!

Ammonite

The Audience hiked 4 hours through the Undercliff from Lyme Regis and camped out in an isolated spot under ancient Spanish Oaks.   A mobile cinema screen was set up on 'Secret Beach' to watch Ammonite 'on location'...  An impromptu 'Fossil Hunt at dawn' revealed hidden corners of the Jurassic coast and fossils galore!

Double Bill: Life of Brian & Spartacus

Guests were made to graffiti  'Romans Go Home' 1000 times on the walls of Pontius Pilates' palace in Jerusalem.   "I am Spartacus!".  

Lost Boys 

We set up a fully functional pop up VHS shop, "Max's Video",  for a week in winter 2023, with a secret Vampire Lair out the back, accessible via a deserted mine shaft.   Guests were invited to sign up for membership to join the video club, where they could rent VHS tapes and party all night.  "Wait 'til mum finds out!"

Ya No Estoy Aqui/ La Reina Del Hielo

A celebration of Mexican cinema and cuisine - and also a nod to our many Spanish speaking friends and neighbours in DT6!    with a surprise screening of a Finnish Visual art piece & live score from Pedro.....

BMX Bandits

Bring your BMX bikes down to "North Mills" and party like it's 1984.    Massive shout out to local legend Rob Ridge who came down and blew our minds with his amazing BMX Flatland Skills.     A very successful 'test run' for the new HQ in town!

Enter The Panda

Come together at 'Hans Island' in 1974 Kowloon Bay,  for a Panda/Dragon Kung Fu mash up.  Food from BearKat, tunes from DJ Davie Dave!  Venture through the hall of mirrors into our brand new, psychedelic, opium den slash Micro cinema!

OMNIBUS: BUS & COACH FILM FESTIVAL

A Four Day Film Marathon at Loscomebe Farm, only just made it through after a torrential rain storm on the first night destroyed the tent and took out 90% of the equipment.   Magical Mystery Tour and the Graduate were highlights.

DOUBLE BILL: NINJAGO & CATS!

Two classic films that were just meant to be seen together.  Shout out to Sonny 'Selector' Teasdale and all the Kool Kats and Kids that brought the party to unit 3A.

KNEECAP

The Gaeltacht was brought to Bridport  and celebrated in style, for a surprise secret screening of KneeCap...   Thanks to (the real) BFI and Curzon for loaning us the bluRay and licensing the film, while it was still on theatrical release!

Thought-provoking therapy this Thanksgiving, & then, on Thursdays at three pm, and thenceforward throughout the thwinter (thilent th): thirteen ‘th’ themed theatrical things….
 

'Thelma And Louise'

Closing out our season of "TH' films with a bang at the "Silver Bullet" saloon.  We had Stetsons, Margaritas, Chilli, Line Dancing, Tumbleweed, and to top it all off: a genuine Turquoise 1966 Ford Thunderbird convertible..  all hidden away in a pop up cinema at a secret location in Bridport.

A fringe event, supporting Birdports 'Birth of The Cool' Jazz Festival.  A journey through the early days of Jazz, spread over 4 days in spring 2025.
